What is Reiki?                           

     Reiki(ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that helps to promote healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. 

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

 Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.

What is a session like?

You are lying  on a massage table in a dimly lit room with soft music playing.  The practitioner will gently rest his/her hands upon you ,usually beginning at the top of the head and proceeding, non-intrusively,  to other areas of the body. Guided visualizations may be done using healing light to cleanse, balance and heal. Each session varies according to what the practitioner senses you need.   Sensations you may feel are heat, cold, tingling, or pulsating. You may even fall asleep. It is a very relaxing, very comforting feeling.
